art and innocence

as promised, I have art to share with you.
pardon the uncompleted-ness.
each drawing is a part of my journal which is themed "self", hence all the self-portraits.

for Christmas I got Prismacolor markers!  I am so ecstatic about these; I used them in Savannah at SCAD and discovered how wonderful they are.  I've incorporated them into the above picture along with colored pencils.

my art has definitely taken a back seat for the last couple months.  it's so nice to settle back into the practice of painting and drawing; I love how breaks from school allow me the time to do just that.  with each piece of art I do, I find that my style evolves. it's almost like the endless evolution, because with each stroke of a brush or hatch of a pencil, I become more aware of what works and what doesn't; it's a learning process.

and you see this little, innocent face?

not so much.

Puck has some sharp, little teeth.
sharp enough to give me a fat lip.
a chapped, fat lip that is..

well, today I'm going to get down to the knitty gritty and get homework done *sigh*

happy thursday, bloggies!
xoxo

  2. Yay! You're work is coming along very nicely, Emily. I can't wait to see what the new year brings for you.
Look at that puppy. Oh my god, he's so cute... Please don't take this the wrong way, but I want to squeeze him until he explodes!! But not really, because that's cruel.
