back to me

f21 studded leggings, leopard cardigan, boots, f21 long sleeve tee, f21 bubble skirt

ae green jeggings, uo shirt, charlotte russe necklace, f21 jacket, jeffrey campbell clogs

levi's denim button up shirt, ae green jeggings, jeffrey campbell clogs

The second and third looks are a result of changing too many times.  But, as you may have noticed, the Jeffrey Campbell clogs were constant.  I. am. in. love.  I've been wanting them since forever and my mom found them at ross of all places, for a fraction of the original price.  However, I didn't wear them to school, because I find wearing heels while I'm rushing to class isn't exactly practical.  But it is a nice advantage to be five inches taller than usual..I managed to match my mom and her 5'11" height.

Anyways, I want to take this opportunity and thank you all for your love and support on my last post.  It really means the world.  I take each kind word to heart, I really do.

In relation to last post, I sort of had an epiphany about why I blog after the fact.  Specifically, while I was driving home from school today.

Do I enjoy it?
Am I engaged in it?
Do I benefit from it?

The ultimate conclusion is:  yes I love to blog, yes I benefit from it, but NO I am not engaged in it -- over all making it LESS enjoyable than it should be.  I feel as though I have been on autopilot, just spitting words out and putting pictures up.  I've turned a blind eye to the place where I find the most freedom of expression, some of the most amazing people, and a place I can put my words so they reach hundreds, even thousands, of people.  There is a total emotional disconnect going on here, and I think something needs to change.

As to what needs to change, well it's probably me, but time will tell.  Hopefully I can make a comeback to the blog world with ME, reconnect with myself again and, of course, my readers.

here's to finding myself again

  1. Emily,

First of all I love those outfits, especially the last. It's very me, actually I have probably worn that exact same outfit ;)
Sometimes I find that disconnecting myself with my blog for a while helps me realize what I want to say the MOST, it can be hard to seperate yourself from it, but take a week or two off--maybe you'll find what you were looking for?

  2. I love the outfits! I understand what you mean about feeling disconnected with your blog. Sometimes we need to reality check and refocus on why we are blogging in the first place. Maybe a break would be good (although I would miss your posts!) even if It was just for a few days or a week.

  3. LOVING the leggings.

and girl, now is the time to find who you are. maybe you could sit at a blank blog post and just starting... you might surprise yourself as to the content that comes out!

  4. Emily! I love all of those outfits!! I see myself wearing the first one more, but I love the three of them. I'm obsessed with clogs lately and I love those! And I absolutely ADORE your bag on the second outfit. Is it Chanel?
    Have a lovely thursday

  5. Gah! I think that the first ensemble is my favorite - I love that leopard print cardi! And the Jeffrey Campbell clogs...I need! You always look amazing, Emily!

I hope that your re-evaluation helps you to find peace and re-discover your true adoration for blogging. :)

  6. hey Lola! My bag is actually from Charlotte Russe :)

  7. I'm having the same thoughts about blogging...hence the move! Still struggling t figure out what blogging means to me though, so I understand ya:)

I know I've mentioned this a million times before, but seriously--I WANT TO RAID YOUR WARDROBE! Your Charlotte Russe necklace, denim outfit and OH THE CLOGS.... <3

  8. These outfits are so rad. You styling gets better and better. LOVE!
