just keep sewing

moustache ring.  F21 tulle skirt.  UO striped tank.  thrifted leopard flats.

and now, onto my picture-taking spree..

new, nameless dress form..

new fabric...

sewing basics...

plus a little inspiration...

okay, so don't let all of this deceive you, because I am definitely a beginner in sewing.  sure, I've made an apron, boxers, and a sweatshirt....in school classes.  but, I'm ready to learn down to the nitty gritty - I've got sewing books on order from amazon and I'm researching like a mad woman.  I can't wait to start making my own clothes!

do you sew?  have you ever been interested in sewing?
any name suggestions for my nameless dress form?  she may be old, but isn't she pretty ;)

by the way, thank you for your encouragement about burning my evil ED clothes.  I am definitely going to burn some of them, because I can't imagine any other girl wearing them..they just don't have good vibes.  There is this specific pair of sweat pants that are particularly evil, every single time I wore them something or someone made me cry.  See what I mean?  not. good. vibes.

have a beautiful sunday night!  I'm off to take a walk.
xoxo

p.s. I'll be sure to document the burning of the evil ED pants.  I wish I could invite all of you over and we could roast marshmallows and make s'mores..but seeing as how everyone is EVERYWHERE, that scenario doesn't seem very likely :/

  2. What an interesting hobby! My mom tried to teach me to sew, but my fingers never took to the poking D:

I completely agree with you about the vibes - just like the ring from Lord of the Rings couldn't exist ANYWHERE in Middle Earth - sooner or later, some poor little hobbit would find it and chaos (but really good movies) would ensue. Congrats on being so ready to give that crap up :)

  5. I am not a sewer at all. In fact, I'm downright awful at it! This just means that I am even more excited that you will be sewing! I can't wait to see your creations. :D

Burn those clothes Emily! I wish I could be there right beside you and help you.

  6. have you thought about donating any of your ed clothes?
or maybe selling them online, through ebay for example, and either donating the proceeds or using the money to buy something that the eating disorder wouldn't let you?

p.s. i'm the one from virginia and now in portland, oregon who posted on your formspring!

  7. I love your creative photography, but the blurry photos are just hard to see. What is the purpose of them? You have such a creative spirit and definitely are able to express that through your fashion. I would love to actually be able to see :)

  8. I appreciate your feedback! The blurry photos are mainly because I am in such a hurry, and I put the camera on timer, it comes out blurry so I just leave them like that. It's basically bad timing on my part. I'll try my best to leave more time to take better photos, and maybe get a tripod ;)

  9. I am completely incapable of sewing - seriously; nevertheless, I have always envied those who are capable of sewing!

LOVE the dress form - I've always wanted one myself!! :)

I always wanted to sew, but I'm too scared xD. My mom was actually making dresses for a while (job) but she quit because it was too tiring. I have tons of old jeans that I want to transform into purses :3

As for a name for the dress form...:
    Lulu
    F21
    Georgette
    Vanilla
    Swirl
    Popo

...nah? Ok maybe you should listen to other's comments xD
