This is the first Sunday I've had off in forever!  
so I'm obviously living it up by sleeping in, blogging in the morning, and doing whatever it is I feel like. Oh, and watching The Real Housewives of NYC, because reality television is my life.

Despite some struggling, I've managed to squeeze in some great outfits this past week.  
One thing I've noticed when I'm struggling, is that I tend to gravitate towards sweat pants, giant t-shirts, and gym shorts.  It's inevitable, but I try and counter that gravitation by dressing up.  It helps me see the difference between what is true and what I'm envisioning in my head.

What's a counteract that you find helpful to your daily struggles, whatever they might be?

Welp, I'm off to relax and enjoy this wonderful day off!

  2. I LOVE your outfits posts today! Sooo cute and chic. And I totally am the same way when it comes to struggling... I want to throw on a huge boyfriend tee and my brother's adidas soccer shorts (yes that's an attractive picture haha) I dress up too.. that definitely helps me and see the "beautiful" person that I really am.. you know? I also Skype with my sister (I live New York.. currently in Texas for a couple weeks... she is at med school in California) and Skyping with her really makes me feel better because she's such a smart, strong person. I think it's really important to have someone smart and strong in your life to help you through the struggles! I don't know what I'd do without my sister and my mom! Two smart beautiful women!!

  3. Ideally, I take my radio into my parents giant bathtub, grab a fashion, food, or yoga magazine, and blast Beethoven's Für Elise while
    I drift to another place. Sometimes it's easier to
    distance myself from my struggles before
    I can tackle them.
    I LOVE that striped fitted dress. You are beautiful, Emily, never forget that.

    To deal with my struggles I often journal, do squared breathing, browse shopping websites lol, go to Starbucks and sip on some green tea

  6. Emily! you are so adorable :] i think dressing up is a great way to counteract negative self-image.
    i find yoga to be incredibly helpful. its such a great release without expending too much energy.

    I've had a rough time today because I broke up with my boyfriend, I felt like I couldn't get out of bed!!! Then I took a shower at like 5 pm and went to the movies with my dad. I felt better.

  13. All your outfits are so cute! I really love the second one. :D

    When I'm struggling I find that little bit of exercise helps a LOT. Doesn't matter if it's a walk, run, dvd, whatever. It all helps and makes me instantly feel better.

    a nice hot shower always makes me feel refreshed and ready to tackle whatever is going on in my life
