This is what I wore on Thursday.
This is what I started out wearing on Thursday, then changed into my boots.

Ladies and gents, there is a problem in Emilyland.  I find myself being way too repetitive in my fashion sense.  You know that saying -- people usually wear 20% of their closet 80% of the time?  Well, my friends, you may or may not take note, but that is moi.  I seriously need to switch it up.  Variety is the spice of life, so why be so...monotonous?!

Why do I bring this up?
because instead of just complaining about my comfortable ways, I am going to DO something about it.  I am going to challenge myself.  No more comfort.  Next week I am deeming The Challenge Week.

My Challenge: I want to majorly switch up my looks and play with what I have in my closet.
Restrictions: NO BOOTS.  I don't care how cold it might be, but those suckers are staying inside.
Start: Sunday, February 28th.
Finish: Sunday, March 7th.

it isn't only me who is the challengee, must I mention, because I am challenging you all as well.
What's one thing you need to branch out of?
What do you need to switch up to get out of a rut?
Well, I challenge you to take on whatever it is that has you tied down.  Do it for yourself, whether it be changing up your food choices, fashion choices, or just plain 'ol choices.

Can't wait to hear what you take on!

Let me end on this note -- You all are amazing, the feedback I got on my optimistic post made me even more optimistic.  Your words truly brightened my day :)

  1. Hi! I missed your posts, I'm so glad the exams are over so I can catch up with your blog :)

Woah, girl: If you think YOU are too repetitive...then what am I?? I have an UNIFORM 5 days a week, lol!

I love those leopard flats! Why did you change for boots? I saw those flats in my dreams :p

Good lucks on your challenge, I'm dying to see what you're going to do without boots ;)

  2. Hahaha! Emily, don't challenge me... I can't do it. I know I'm guilty of wearing monochromes and too much blacks and grays.

But I'm excited to see what you'll come up with this week, you may be able to inspire me to step out of my comfort zone.

    Have a great weekend! xoxo

  3. just don't catch a cold dearie!! its still quite chilly out <3 love the idea though!! you can do it!!
    love ya girlie

  4. I wear boots and leggings almost everyday; sadly, I'm not brave enough to take your challenge - I can't not wear them!!! :)

  5. can't wait to see your new looks this week! I have a feeling you'll have no problem mixing it up with some fierce shoes :)

  6. Okay, I am going to (however reluctantly) take on your challenge! Starting sunday (the perfect day, may I add, seeing as I am on vacation until then) I will refrain from wearing any of the outfits I have blogged thus far :)

Thank you for giving me a reason to experiment <3 SO happy for you and your recovery right now

  7. i need to switch up my dinners and my hair! :) you look gorgey as always!

  8. Stopping by,I like a challenge, but this is a little too much for me. Take on your challenge and move forward in a positive direction.

  9. OMG I love that pink top with the keyhole center on you...oh la la, so pretty!

  10. That outfit looks perfect, regardless of whether you wore it or not. I'm the same about my closet. I probably wear ten percent of it 99 percent of the time. I just want it to be warm again so I can switch it up more! Good luck on your challenge, that's an awesome idea (: -Kylee

  11. I hardly think your style is repetitive
but now I'm super excited to see the outfits this week!

  12. Hey girl! can't wait to see what you have in store for this week. i'm with you on needing to put the boots AWAY.

  13. That is.. a scary challenge. Lol. Mainly because 1) I REALLY need to switch up what I wear and 2) I also need to REALLY switch up what I eat.

I'll try though.. I switched up what I wore today. Kind of.. I wore a hoodie with my skinny jeans. Lmao.. I'm a disaster.

  14. that will definitely be a challenge boots girl! :) but you can totally do it. hmm, i challenge myself not to freak out about the little things that make me crazy! for example, if i forget to bring my agenda to class, i challenge myself to not have a hissy fit because I'm pretty sure I'll still make it through the day.

  15. Love this look, the photos are so beautiful with the sunlight peeking through!
