hey my friends!
back to the daily grind…but that’s not necessarily a bad thing ;)
I am counting down the hours, minutes, seconds until I have no more school. Okay, maybe that’s a lie, but I am seriously SO CLOSE from doing just that. Why is it that my school gets out the 23rd of December!? If I’m not mistaken, I believe that is the day before Christmas eve – obv the person who made the schedule was really a little ignorant about the holidays…
Anyways, besides my ranting, today was an interesting day. I chose my electives for next year. I am finding it very hard to believe that we are already thinking about next year, but you gotta do whatcha gotta do. How is it that I’m going to be a junior already! For my electives I chose art 3 (of course!), spanish 4, and marketing…but I think I might take creative writing instead. There are just too many choices! I think I might have to have a little chit chat with my counselor before all decisions are made :)
So here is my look for today…
A&F sweater
tiered tank
leggings
boots
This was definitely a pull-your-hair-out-“WHAT SHOULD I WEAR????” kind of morning. Let’s be honest – we all have ‘em. I must have changed at least ten times.
I want to address a question babyvanilla from Vanilla Swirl had for me -
Q: Have you had a phase where your style was 'emo/gothic/skater/whatever'? I ask this because your style looks urbain/glamourous, and I was wondering if your taste in fashion has always been the same. :)
Naturally, I have gone through many “style” phases. Yes, there was a skater/punk/preteen phase where I wanted to be Avril Lavigne, where my wardrobe included every color pair of chucks, blue jeans, and any Pacsun Paul Frank t-shirt I could get my hands on. As I get older, though, my style evolves and I never know what look might pop into my head that will inspire me. Some of the things I have worn before have been a little gutsy and people always say “I couldn’t pull that off”, but the truth is I think anyone can pull anything off if worn with confidence. All in all, I try not to be afraid to wear something and usually that’s how my sense of style develops and then I get more creative. Because, when you aren’t fearful of the tools, aka clothing, then you can build anything you imagine, resulting in amazing outfits.
That’s all for now :)
Goodnight!
can you be my stylist?!? because your outfits are AWESOME girl!
ReplyDeleteOh lala, Emily is an artist! You should post some of your work :) As a fellow advocate of the arts, I much like your choice of art 3 as an elective!
ReplyDeleteoh.my.that sweater makes me want to die (in a good way, I promise)
It looks so comfy and cute.
I'm loving your tiered tank, Emily!
ReplyDeleteI agree... you have to love the tools and use them to your advantage. And you know how to use those tools really well Emily.
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit! I am always afraid that I won't be able to 'pull off' a certain look. Maybe next time I'm drooling over a window display I will be brave enough to go for it ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're back to normal posting.. I gotta say your updates are awesome!

That tierd top is amazing! And I totally agree... its not the clothes that make the outfit, its the spirit they're worn in.
ReplyDeleteYour subject choices sound great :) such big decisions to make, but like you said, you can always change them later.
Enjoy your day my love! Another day less of school ;)
Hannah xo.

Emily? Skater punk?! No way! I can't see it, you're so feminine and classy.
ReplyDeleteI went through it too, it was no bueno!
Ummm...your sweater? It needs to be in my closet!! :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how we always end up tossing on a bulky sweater or cardigan on those "what-to-wear mornings?" Of course, this typically occurs AFTER we've tried on ten outfits!! :)
ah, time goes by far too fast. I swear, high school is all a big blur to me now .. I just set my schedule for my junior year of college -- ack! I want to stop growing up! haha... all the more reason to embrace and savor each day, right? :)
ReplyDeletei LOVE that sweater <3
