Today I baked, and baked, and well…baked.
Okay, I did manage to clean a little too :)
just call me Cinderemily from now on, kay?
No, I’m just kidding, a day like this comes rarely – taking initiative is not something I do very well around the house *sorry mom*…
Anywho – back to my baking. I managed to make three batches of cookies today. I. never. want. to. smell. another. cookie. again. After accidentally eating a little too much batter for my liking, the cookies didn’t seem too appetizing when they came out of the oven. My stomach was not liking me very much.
I made Heath Toffee Cookies and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. Then later I made Gingerbread Woopie Pie Cookies, which, if I do say so myself, are the bomb diggety. I forgot to snap a picture of them, or perhaps they are just too sacred to be publicized like that..
Of course by the end of this cookie baking fiasco, I was covered in flour and so was the kitchen. After help from my little munchkins a.k.a vacuum cleaners a.k.a dogs, I got the mess cleaned up, which brought me up here to my bed to lounge and blog. Cinderella definitely didn’t have it this easy :)
If I don’t get a chance to post tomorrow, I want to take the time to wish each and every one of you a very merry Christmas. You all deserve the best holiday with your family and friends. And for those of you who are struggling – please try to leave negative thoughts out of the equation. Relax and enjoy the company you keep, there is no other day out of the year that is warmer or brighter – embrace it!
I'm so glad you had such a wonderful day, Emily!! Baking is pure bliss around the holidays - especially with family!! :)
