confession

I confess – I am currently blogging from my bed.  Actually all my blogging has taken place here as of late.  I practically live in it now, but who can blame me?

Another tiring day at school and work – but a girl’s gotta earn her money :]

Here’s my look for Thursday…

9-6

- white v-neck
- black button skirt
- charcoal leggings
- rainbows

I’m all about the flip-flops year ‘round ;]

Anyways – something that has been brought up in the blog world that I can relate to COMPLETELY, is when people make comments about my appearance.  It happened today in fact!  Sometimes I just brush it off and then other times I will let it get to me, but I know I shouldn’t.  I’ve been said to before “Emily you are so skinny, I’m so jealous!” and I’ve also been told “Emily, you’re lookin a little thin..” or I’ve also heard “Do you like being skinny?'”.  I know people care and they say these things with good intentions, but there are boundaries.  If a person doesn’t comment on how much weight someone as gained, shouldn’t they be sensitive to the weight of very thin people too?  I think weight is inappropriate to comment on or ask about no matter what end of the spectrum a person is.  There is such thing as being concerned, but it is much more decent to reach out to someone in private.  Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Well today I had a Boost for the first time in my life.  It was alright, I had the vanilla because I’m not much of a chocolate person.  I also tried the White Chocolate Macadamia Luna Bar (Luna’s new flavor) and it was delicioso.  For my sandwich, I went with strawberries and almond butter, an idea I saw floating around a few blogs, and it proved to be pretty good.  The freedom to try new things is really exciting. I realize I’ve had this freedom all along, but ED wouldn’t let me utilize it!

That’ll be it for tonight bloggies, I’ve got to get some zzzz’s in before another full day tomorrow.

Buenos noches :]

  1. I also a flipflops girl in the tropics. I only get to wear my boots when I'm on vacation.

Don't worry about what others maybe saying. They may be thinking that they are giving you a compliment when they say you're too thin or maybe they just want to say something. They maybe insensitive sometimes especially if they know what you've been through yet they still give such remarks. Stay happy and focus on your goals.

  2. People and their comments...it's just one of those things that we have to live with. And that we live for, actually:(

Yay for trying out new things! I gathered my nerve today (more like money...all that heady power from having cash, LOL) and splashed out on new babies I am so not letting go to waste. :)

  4. I so want to blog from bed - must get a laptop soon! :)

I adore your skirt - the belt and military buttons are stunning! :)

If you ask me, many people in today's society have no couth. Weight is honestly not a topic to bring up with people - whether someone is think or overweight. Try to ignore it, but I can see where it can grate on your nerves. People have no business prying into your life that way - if you feel like discussing a topic, you'll bring it up yourself; otherwise let it lie. :)

  5. I completely agree with you on what you said about commenting on others' weights/appearance. People would never dream of calling someone overweight in public, but somehow its perfectlty acceptable to make inappropraite comments at those who are underweight.
But try your best to ignore what others say, and do the right thing for your body. Incidentally you're rocking that skirt & flipflops combo ;)

  6. I connected to you from another blog.

Almond butter and strawberries? Funny I have both but have never tried them together. When I doing one of my vegan experiments that sounds like something different and easy. I had not seen that idea.

    Best regards

  7. Yay for all year round flip flops. Living in Ireland and wearing flip flops all year round is probably slightly dumb but ohh well I like the freedom.

I like the idea about having the freedom but not being able to utilize it. I'd never thought of it that way. I'd just thought I didn't/still don't have the freedom. I like your view of things better and I will try remember it.
    :)
Hope you have a great weekend.

  8. I love the back and white outfit ;)

I don't like when people comment on my size. It makes me feel really uncomfortable, but I know I'm more sensitive about it than normal people, so I just try to change subject or shug it off. Life is so much more than size, right?

White chocolate Macadam bar? Oh I want to try it :(

    Have a nice week-end!

  10. blogging definitely makes us vulnerable to negative or perhaps triggering comments -- and though they're inevitable all we can do is brush them off and take them with a grain of salt! If anything ever gets to you girl please feel free to email me :)
